World Short course Duathlon champs - Rimini, Italy 26-28 Sept 2009

David and alex made the trip out to Rimini, david took GOLD in the Mens 20-24 age group and was third fastest age grouper overall, Alex finished a very strong 7th in the Mens 20-24.

David Roper took the win in Elite by 3secs(5k/11k/5k)  and Alex Fisher took 4th place in the Challenge event (9k/20k/5k)

Human Race Bananaman Triathlon - Sun 20th July 2008 - Dorney Lake

For the team time trial (800m,30k,7.5k) catagory we decided to enter two teams, one to do well and get exposure at the front the other to cover advertising at the back of the field :

The Big Adventure Store 1 (965) : Gavin, David and Alex

The Big Adventure Store 2 (966) : Justin, Linda and Jason (staff team)

10:30am start time, 2 laps of the 400m swim course. Very choppy water, mini rollers breaking at the pontoon! Not great conditions for Jason's first Tri ! Justins slight hangover, the waves and being kicked in the chest at the first buoy caused him to throw up on swim lap 2!

6 laps around the rowing lake on the bikes, drafting within your team allowed, evil head wind for first half of the lap then tail wind on second half to allow silly speeds on back straight!   

On lap 1 Alex caught David's wheel on the fast back straight hitting the tarmac at roughly 60km/h, grazed all down one side and wanting to carry on but the lads got him to a medic and left him to recover and then steamed back through the field 2-up time trial style to post the 2nd fastest bike time by 8secs! 

Team 2 took the bike leg as more of an advertising opportunity with the team strip standing out well

3 Laps of the run course, into headwind up to the turn around point and nice little push from it on the way back.

Team 1 cruised the run to finish 4th in catagory, a solid run from Team 2 saw them make a few places back after losing them in T1 and on the bike.

Lee Piercy beats the Latton 10mile TT record ! Thursday May 8th 2008

After 400miles of riding in the French Pyrenees the week before, Lee seems to be on top form, following his win the night before at the Castle Combe summer Duathlon series he went on to beat the 10mile Latton TT course record.

Gavin Lancaster braved the cold conditions at Hungerford to complete the course in a time of 1hr 25min 40secs to place him 1st in the male 35-39 age group and 4th place overall.

Triferris - Swindon Duathlon - Wroughton Sunday 6th April 2008

Just under 200 people braved the snow and freezing conditions to take part in the 2008 Swindon Duathlon.

Lee Piercy struggled through muscle cramps to finish second, less than one minute behind first place.

Alex Fisher faired well in the first run but a puncture with a bike lap to go saw his race finshed early.

Paul Carson competing in the Do-a-Duathlon took the win in his first UK Duathlon.

Mazda National Duathlon ranking Series 2008, Steyning Duathlon Monday 24th March 

 Lee Piercy and David Roper braved hideous weather conditions to compete at Steyning on Easter Monday for the national duathlon ranking series.

The event format was 7km run, 35km bike finishing with a 5km run

Lee took the win by 14seconds with a time of 1hr 33.27  with David coming in 7th,(1hr 36.58)  missing out on a top five finish by only 50secs.

Cheddar Aquathlon Sunday 16th March 2008

Lee Piercy was back in action to try and defend his win from the triandrun spring ball buster 2007, a strong performance in difficult conditions saw him place 2nd amongst a competitive field of 157 men .

TOP 10 RESULTS
